Georges Gallais
Georges Gallais is the chairman of the company VU Log SAS, a spin-off the INRIA (national institute for research in computer science and control) founded in May 2006 which is involved in solutions for intelligent transportation systems. He worked for almost 20 years in the car industry in Renault and then in SAGEM where he was in charge of the Eureka project such as CARMINAT (navigation system) or Calliope (speech recognition) but also of the study on electronic control units (ECU) for cars. In 1998, he left SAGEM to create the first French laboratory for research on ITS, called IMPRA Europe, a subsidiary company of AISIN the first parts manufacturer of the Toyota Group.
In 2001, he joined the INRIA-Sophia Antipolis as an expert engineer on the big project CyberCars which was prepared by Michel Parent of the INRIA. In the framework of PREDIT, he created the project MobiVIP, public individual vehicles. Their presentation attracted the "Vehicles of the Future" pole attention which was about to be created. VU Log is now offering a range of products and services for urban electric cars especially developed for short distance. This service, called CityVU is operational in the city of Antibes-Juan les Pins (06) since July 2007. |

Nadia Bahlouli

Paolo Mulassano received the Master Degree in Electronics Engineering (Summa Cum Laude) at Politecnico di Torino in December 1998, and a Ph.D. in Communications Engineering from the same University in December 2003. In 2000 he was one of the founders of the Navigation Signal Analysis and Simulation Group (NavSAS) focusing the signal processing background on navigation-related activities. Since 2004 Paolo Mulassano is a senior researcher at ISMB where he is the Director of the Navigation Lab. The interests of Paolo Mulassano cover the field of digital signal processing applied to localization and navigation with specific focus on the development of innovative GNSS receiver core technologies and applications. He is member of several technical committees like the Galileo Signal Task Force and he is project manager for ISMB of different initiatives funded by National and European institutions. Paolo Mulassano is author of more then 70 papers on journals and international conferences, and it is author of 5 patents related to GNSS. |

David Mumford
Director – Next Generation Fuel Systems
David Mumford’s education includes Bachelor degrees in Mathematics and in Applied Science, as well as a Master of Applied Science. He has been a part of Westport Innovations core engineering group since April 1999, helping the company grow from less than 40 employees to more than 200 today. Mr. Mumford has been actively involved in nearly all areas of Westport technology, primarily focusing on the fuel injection system and injectors. He has been part of Heavy Duty programs with Cummins and MAN, mono-fuel programs on Light Duty engines with Isuzu, hydrogen programs with Ford and BMW, and currently leads the development of new fuel systems for Westport’s latest OEM partners. He is still involved in research at the University/National laboratory level in piezoelectric materials.
