Moderator Laurent Meillaud, automobile press journalist
Welcome of participants from 8.00 to 8.45
Arnold Tramaille, President of the Pôle Véhicule du Futur - Etienne Butzbach, Mayor of Belfort
Innovative mobility is accompanied by the emergence of new needs in terms of service and technology. However, it is not always easy to put supply in line with latent needs. Will the proposed services be up to the high stakes? Will they meet the true needs and expectations of the citizens? What will the "killer-applications" of mobility be in the years to come?
Speakers : Pascal Bernard (FAM automobile) - Georges Gallais (VU LOG) - Jean-François Argence (LOHR) - Georges Amar (RATP) - Antonio Capone (Politecnico di Milano) - Eric CHAREYRON (Keolis) - Christian WERDERER (INX)
The objective of the European standards relating to recycling and reprocessing of out-of-use vehicles is to increase the rate of re-use and reprocessing. How can the technological and organizational challenge be taken up to meet these requirements, while reducing production costs and preserving natural resources ?
Speakers : Nadia Bahlouli (IMFS) - Cécile Berriet (FEMTO-ST) - Christian COTTE (FAURECIA Bloc AV)
Innovating, especially in terms of urban mobility, consists of developing new means of transportation or socio-technological tools supplementing them. These new means of transportation, just like the tools, aim at helping potential users to understand and use these new tools and services. The man-machine interface reveals all its importance hereby. This workshop shows methods, and especially the results of accounting for the human factors in the design of systems and products, with an aim to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and safety. Many speakers of the workshop will share their experience in the automotive industry as well as in the railroad field. Presentations will be followed by a general discussion on the topic of the man-machine interfaces: concepts, ergonomics and design.
Speakers : Sébastien Chalme (UTBM) - Giovanni Boreanaz (Research Center FIAT) - Martine Cornuejols (EPF) - Amélie Debreux Rony (VOLVO 3P) - Stéphane Espie (INRETS) - Virginie Papillault (UIC) - Jean-Claude Sagot (UTBM).
Individual experiences to avoid delocalisation and get collaboration organised to accelerate innovation.
Speakers : Patrick Bedigis (OpenCS) - Patrick Mermilliod (Peugeot Japy) - Denis Lagourgue (Phénix International) - William Zimmermann (Timken France) - Marzio Bianchi (From Concept to Car - Turin)
Evolution of behaviours behind the steering wheel is not often mentioned, while it can be a source of considerable fuel savings. How can users be better educated, what measures can be proposed to drivers to drive more intelligently?
Speakers : Didier Carraud (Navteq) - Michel ALDER (Quality Alliance Ecodrive) - Régis Bourbon (La Poste) - Philippe Orvain (Nomadic Solutions)
A technical revolution rarely entails a significant change in architecture. That was the case with the first cars, which rather looked like stagecoaches than like the cars we know today. Yet, it is commonly anticipated that a new generation of urban vehicles will soon be coming to life. So, could architecture and form in this case become the keys of additional success?
Speakers : Lucien Magnon (UTC) - Erwin van Handenhoven (CRIPS) - Hugues Baume (UTBM/EDIM) - Philippe Casens (DOMUS ACADEMY) - Laura Milani (IAAD) - Jean Paul Herlem (FAURECIA)
Hydrogen is increasingly considered as one of the major eco fuels for the vehicles of the future. How will production and distribution channels be created and developed?
Speakers : Pierre Beuzit (ALPHEA-INEVA) - Sergio Desanctis (Italian Forum of Hydrogen) - Didier Gaston (INERIS) - Michel Junker (ALPHEA) - Emilio Vitale (University of Pisa) - Etienne Butzbach (Mayor of Belfort and President of CAB) - Thierry PRIEM (CEA) - Davide Damosso (Environnement PARK) - P Lucchese (CEA)
Virtual reality tools used nowadays among others in the car industry allow the simulation of mobility flows in urban areas and offer original representation models interacting with environment. These tools, if applied to urbanism and architecture, will progressively further the conception of innovating mobility systems and new uses impacting behaviours and making the urban areas and towns better places to live. Which experiences have been conducted in this field? Which evolutions could be expected? Which lessons could benefit to the elected representatives and decision-makers?
Speakers : Guillaume Moreau (Central School of Nantes) - Martin Zimmermann (Visenso) - Abder Koukam (Director of SeT-UTBM laboratory) - Dominique Riou, (Responsible of Club Transports at FNAU)
While the walking consumer needs to communicate in all actions of his everyday life through a multitude of tools supposed to facilitate his daily routine, vehicles seem to be little concerned by this revolution yet. However, change is coming quickly: what benefits can we expect from the fast development of onboard communications as far as security, driving comfort or passenger occupation are concerned?
Speakers : Arnaud de Meulemeester (ATX Europe) - Didier Carraud NAVTEQ - François Spies (LIFC-UTBM) - Antonio Capone (Politecnico di Milano) - Erina FERRO (ISTI/CNR Pise) - Paolo Mussalano (ISMB) - Alexandre Nepveu (ORANGE)
Opening by Denis Sommer, Vice-President of the region Franche-Comté and closing by Adrien Zeller, President of the Region Alsace.
With the raise of oil price, and in the framework of sustainable development, how could we reconcile mobility and respect of the environement? Cities are implementing solutions for urging citizens to move around more efficiently with public transportations or car-sharing. The car manufacturers joined the process and are taking advantage of this tendency to present to the general public cleanest models. But urban mobility is also raising the issue of urban planning. When French people are willing to extend their mobility, which networks should be the ones to invest in? Which kind of transportation should be favoured? Isn’t it time to get rid of fruitless fights between cars and public transportations and to put together more intelligence and information?
Speakers : Laure MANDARON (Delegate for Sustainable Developpement at Groupe La Poste) - Yves KRATTINGER (President of CG70) - Emmanuel SOULIAS (MACIF) - Alberto SANTEL (Mobility Expert Genoa, Turin) - Erwin van HANDENHOVEN (CRIPS) - Gérard HARDY (Villes 2.0) - Jean-Claude DEGAND (Moviken) - Bernard MATYJASIK (Egis Mobilité - Groupe Caisse des Dépôts) - Eric BRETON (Direction of hybrid technology programms PSA Peugeot Citroën) - Patrick JOURDAN (Commercial and marketing director Vinci Park) - Yves DUBREIL (Deputy Director of Research and advanced materials Renault) - Marc TASTAYRE (Sales & Marketing Director KAPSYS) - Muriel BARNEOUD (Groupe La Poste).
Welcoming by Pierre Moscovici, President of CAPM (subject to confirmation).

Since more than thirty years, controversies about the presence of cars in the city, the advantages of using trolley cars or the metro, the revival of the bicycle or the necessary adaptation of public transport have been nourishing many a debate.
