Speakers for Mobilis 2011

Roberto Mati
PITOM
Dr. Roberto Mati graduated in Computer Engineering in 2003, and took the PhD in Automation, Robotics and Bioengineering in 2007, both at the University of Pisa.
Since 2004 he has been working on new solutions for autonomous ground and aerial vehicles. He has designed and developed new methods to improve the autonomous UAV aerial formation, and the autonomous aerial refueling.
He has also designed and realized autopilots for UAVs, both fixed-wing and rotary-wing, and novel navigation and vision systems for autonomous ground vehicles.
In 2007 Dr. Mati participated at the 2007 DARPA Urban Challenge, as a visiting scientist at the Ohio State University (OH). He has worked with Prof.Ozguner and ACT-ION team, leading the Situation Awareness task. After that experience, he has been involved in projects funded by EC and Italian Government, leading tasks concerning software and hardware modules for innovative vechicles.
In 2011 he decided to start a new exiting experience, co-founding PITOM, a start-up created to bring autonomous guidance, navigation and control technologies to a widespread civilian use.
