Gino Paganelli
Michelin Suisse
Gino Paganelli, aged 41 ans, is a passionate believer in alternative energies.
He has been a research engineer since 2005 in the Michelin Recherche et Technique research centre, a subsidiary of the Michelin group, located in Givisiez in Switzerland. The centre is involved in developing systems and components for electric mobility.
Gino Paganelli has a Ph.D. from the University of Valenciennes, obtained in 1999, and his doctoral thesis, researched in cooperation with PSA and the ADEME, was entitled" Design and control of a drivetrain for a dual thermal and electric hybrid vehicle". One of the results of the work was the "ECMS” control strategy, which has been adopted by the scientific community working on the optimisation of energy exchanges within a hybrid drivetrain.
Gino Paganelli has over 10 years of experience in fuel-cell R&D, a subject he began working on in 2000, during a postdoctoral Fellowship (1999-2001) at the "Center for Automotive Research" at Ohio State University in Columbus, USA (OH). He continued the theme at the Zürich Polytechnic School (ETHZ) (2001-2003), then at the Institut Paul Scherrer (PSI, Villigen, Switzerland) from 2003 to 2005 before joining the Michelin research centre.
