A graduate of ESCP (1980) and holder of an MBA from Harvard Business School (1984), from 1984-1990 Fabienne Herlaut worked for Bain and Company, a worldwide leader in Strategy Consulting, first in Boston and subsequently in Paris.

In 1990, Fabienne joined Harwanne, an industrial group listed on the Paris and Geneva stock exchanges, which specializes in mines, packaging and electronics. She held the position of General Manager and was responsible for managing the group’s holdings portfolio and monitoring operational performance in the subsidiaries.

In 2001, Fabienne joined Péchiney as Head of Corporate Strategy and then, following the merger with Alcan, she was appointed joint Head of the integration process between the two companies.

In September 2005, she joined the Luxemburg-based Flat Carbon Europe division of Arcelor Mittal, where she was in charge of Business Development. Following the merger with Mittal, she was tasked with leading the Western Europe / Eastern Europe integration and renegotiating agreements with Nippon Steel (Japan).

In September 2007, Fabienne joined the SNCF as Head of Strategy, Sustainable Development and European Affairs. In September 2008, she set up Eco- Mobilité Partenaires, SNCF’s investment fund in Eco-mobility, the first European corporate investment fund dedicated to mobility. With €15M in capital, the Fund invests as a long-term minority partner in innovation-led companies.
